Juventus midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren has been arrested in the Netherlands.
The Dutch footballer was arrested on Tuesday at his home in Utrecht. According to eyewitnesses, uniformed and plainclothes officers entered the house and took Ihattaren out. He was taken to the police station.
Utrecht police said only that a 20-year-old man had been arrested for making threats. But sources close to the investigation confirm that it is Mohammed Ihattaren.
It is currently unknown who Mohammed threatened and for what reasons. The police will investigate the victim`s complaint in the coming days. It is unclear whether Ihattaren will have to remain in custody during the investigation. Sources consider this likely.
Ihattaren joined Juventus from PSV in August 2021, signing a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season, and was immediately loaned to Sampdoria. However, he ultimately did not play a single match for the Genoese club and returned to Turin.
In January, Juve loaned the midfielder to Ajax until December 31, 2022. Last month, the Amsterdam team decided to terminate the loan agreement and send Ihattaren back to the Turin club.
