Lando Norris: In the first sector I was faster than Verstappen, but overtaking on this track is too difficult 22.10.2025

Norris explained the reasons for his defeat in the fight with Verstappen. The McLaren driver summed up the results of the Japanese Grand Prix, admitting that he was not fast enough to overtake Max Verstappen in the fight for victory in the race.
It feels like we were faster at times today, but it wasn`t enough. Our speed advantage wasn`t big enough. We have nothing to complain about, but there are a couple of things we need to improve in the car as we had some problems today.
I was faster than Max in the first sector, but Red Bull is much faster than us in the slow sections of the track. Overtaking on this track is too difficult, and our strengths and weaknesses were not revealed as we would like, ” Norris said.
